Our program has been developed by an Early Childhood Educator with years of experience in both the education field and as a qualified and trained ballet and contemporary dance teacher. Our program has been designed specifically for Long Day Care Centres and Preschools. We assist educators to meet National Quality Standards and provide supporting resources with information for families and creative ideas to extend on Children’s knowledge and interest.
How do our programs benefit you..?
children
Not only are our classes super-duper fun, they also support physical, social, emotional, creative and cognitive development. Kids love the excitement of finding out where their next adventure will lead them and making discoveries along the way.
families
Busy families find Boogie Shoes so easy and accessible. They love how their child has the opportunity to participate in an extra curricular activity that is both fun and educational, all from the comfort of their classroom (that means no afternoon drop offs, yay!). Parents also find our programs very affordable- One easy payment of $10 per lesson, no hidden charges such as: uniforms, admin fees or concerts.
educators
As educators, it is our aim to assist children to become culturally competent. Boogie Shoes programs support children to value other cultures and develop positive attitudes towards others. They spark interest and generate topics of discussion and exploration. We’ve done all the research and planning for you, so you can relax and enjoy the experience with your students. We also provide learning stories linked to the EYLF as well as extension ideas to follow up on the children’s interest.
Community
Our program promotes diversity, equality and cultural competence. Children are encouraged to recognise and celebrate differences between themselves and others in the hope of having a society built on mutual respect and acceptance.
Multicultural Program
Explore, celebrate & make discoveries about our amazing world through imaginative music and movement experiences, set to an eclectic mix of music from around the globe. We'll fly on the Boogie Express and touch down in a new destination each week! We'll visit a Maasai tribe in Kenya, gaze at the great pyramids of Giza, dance with finger cymbals, spot animals on safari, celebrate the Lunar New Year with dragon dancing, soar through the sky in the Amazon Rainforest, learn to samba at Carnival, bust out with some hip hop and much more! Don't forget your passport..
Class Structure
We begin each lesson by putting on our magic boogie shoes- they help us to dance like superstars! Then we do a high energy warm up to get the blood pumping. Children’s imaginations run free as they explore a topic through a variety of dance and music experiences. We hop aboard the Boogie Express, and fly to a new destination each week. Coloured ribbons, scarves, musical instruments, puppets, parachutes, fans, dress ups are just some of the exciting props we'll explore.. At the end of the class, children wind down with a story, yoga or guided relaxation. Classes are exciting, interactive and most importantly FUN.
Meet Renae..
Hi, I'm the founder and Principal teacher at Boogie Shoes. As a child, my nickname was bunhead, because i was always dancing. I think it was inevitable that I would one day become a dance teacher. I've had the opportunity to teach dance in Australia, Africa and Asia, where I witnessed the huge benefits that creative movement can bring to young children. I've been inspired by the many cultures around the world that I was lucky enough to immerse myself in. My dream is to share my love of dance, adventure and cultural diversity with the young children of our community.
